I started training and cycling last year to participate in one of the ride alongs. I joined D’Ornellas bike club and learned to ride in a group. I spent most Saturdays doing group rides and also started riding 25k to work.
As the training increased and the awareness for the cause grew I realized that I wanted to do the full ride in 2010. My wife had Thyroid Cancer which fortunately was successfully removed. I had also lost a friend to Cancer. I saw what this did to his family, the struggles they went through. I just can’t begin to imagine the struggles that a kid and his family are faced with.
I know that this will take a large amount of team work for fund raising, it will take a lot of training to get ready. But we will meet many new people with the same passion. And most of all, we will be doing this for the kids.
