Occupation: Project Manager for the Coast To Coast Against Cancer Foundation
I was born in Ontario and raised both here and in Alberta, I have travelled Canada from coast to coast many times. I first became involved with the Coast To Coast Against Cancer Foundation 6 years ago and it changed my life.
Previously, I have had the good fortune to be the Arts & Culture Coordinator for the Toronto 2008 Olympic Bid and the Race Manager for both the Eco-Challenge Canadian Championship and the Eco-Challenge North American Championship. Once I did my first Tour For Kids (tourforkids.com) I knew that C2C was where I needed to be.
Having experience in logistics and event execution was crucial but, it was the children and parents I met along the journeys that made this so special.
I am actively involved in all Coast To Coast Events, including The Tour For Kids, The Sears National Kids Cancer Ride and The Inside Ride. I take great honour and pride in being a small part of this wonderful organization. Cancer has touched my family as well so anything I can do to help the kids makes me feel as though I am giving back what I can to help enrich the lives of those afflicted with this devastating disease.
I am in awe of the bravery and courage I see when I meet these amazing children. Their sense of hope is inspirational.
This will be my second ‘tour of duty’ with the Sears National Kids Cancer Ride and I fully intend to see all my Riders and Volunteers cross the finish line and congratulate each one them on their achievement.
Please take a moment to support my volunteer journey by checking out my blog as well as considering a donation…let’s make a difference today and everyday.
